How China Achieves the Delicate Balance in Ecological Poverty Alleviation: A Systems Thinking Perspective

Ecological poverty alleviation (EPA) is a syngenetic approach to tackling challenges in alleviating extreme and ecological protection. Such an crucial help countries facing these two accelerate their progression towards meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030. Prior research on EPA was focusing understanding from national perspective limited consideration given regional pertinence. This study uses systems thinking construct causal loop diagrams (CLDs) analyzes mechanisms of Lanping County, Yunnan Province based qualitative material. It reveals that dynamics mechanism County consists seven reinforcing feedback loops ten balancing loops. Results indicate external support, funding resources, employment, endogenous-driven industrial development are key drivers successful EPA.
